Josh's Birthday

What do you get your husband who has everything (or really, who buys anything he wants when he wants it which leaves me with no ideas) for his 29th birthday?

Ahh, a trip down memory lane.

When I lived in Chicago, it was tradition that whenever Josh came to visit we would eat at Giordano's pizza. It is amazing! The best deep dish pizza without a doubt!

So for his birthday, I decided to order a Giordano's pizza and have it shipped on dry ice overnight and cook our very own Chicago deep dish pizza at home!

Normally, I really love taking pictures of Josh eating his food, but we were definitely on a time crunch this year for birthday celebrations. Josh scarfed down a QUARTER of the pizza and a couple of breadsticks and rushed off to football camp.

He also got a Bag-O game and a Toypedo swimming pool toy for our Arkansas vacation. None of which he asked for so all-in-all, his gifts were definitely a surprise!

Fun Times at South High

This weekend was my 10 year high school reunion. Who knew I had gotten so old? But before the celebrations, I got to enjoy time with some family at the Smoky Hill River Festival. Probably one of my most favorite things to do in Salina (or the summer in general). I didn't take very many pictures because I'm lazy like that, but I do have this one...very flattering picture of my brother-in-law Chris and I eating fried pickles. Also known as "gifts from God"!

The reunion was surprisingly pretty fun. It was definitely interesting to see some people from my high school class. I even had one classmate introduce himself to me. Awesome. I guess either I wasn't memorable enough or I have changed significantly in 10 years.

We did get to spend time with some of my favorite people, Angie and Bryan. I think they both had fun...right Angie? :)

And because this is such a funny picture of our awesome husbands...

Yet so hard to make fun, when we are two of a kind. Love you babe!

Alice's Bucket List

Has anyone heard of this remarkable girl? She is 15 and fighting a terminal cancer. She has posted her personal "bucket list" online with hopes to check some items off before she becomes too ill (http://alicepyne.blogspot.com/). One thing on her list, is that everyone become a Bone Marrow Donor.

Go to: http://www.marrow.org/ and register to join. It is fairly quick. It took me 8 minutes, and I took a phone call in the middle of it. I had thought MANY times about becoming a donor and feel that there is no reason I shouldn't be willing to give to someone who needs it.

Royals, Peter Fever, and...

Friday night, my parents came in to town and took us to the Royals game. Unfortunately, our boys in blue could not pull it out for a win. Go figure. We had fun anyway!

Saturday, I convinced my Mom to come with me to the Just For Her Expo at the OP Convention Center. I am that person who wins tickets on the radio. Awesome.

The expo was actually really cool. A lot of neat health information and lots of opportunities to win free Botox and massages (I was rooting for the latter for myself). Bonus for the expo? Yep, seeing Dr. Cullen in person! Super super awesome!

Last but not least, if you made it this far anyway, we are expecting! This is the official announcement, Josh and I are pregnant and due November 23rd.

I am not sure how the "pictures" thing work so bear with me.
I think you take it on the 23rd of each month (since I'm due on the 23rd). We shall see.

Anyway, this is my 3 month picture. I think I just look fat but Josh convinced me that I should take and post the picture anyway..."that you will wish you had the pictures someday". So, here it is. Pooch and all. Enjoy.

Memorial Day Weekend

This Memorial Day weekend was a blast! Like every year (unless we make it to State in Baseball), we take a trip down to Lake Kanopolis to spend the weekend with my family. Friday night and Saturday morning were kind of chilly, but after that, the weather was awesome!

We even took the boat out!

Josh was foolish, I mean brave enough to get in the water and kick off the wakeboard season. The water was FREEZING! Literally, I could barely keep my feet in the water.

And because we ran out of things to do... we buzzed Josh's head. Yep, all of his hair is gone.

Well, almost...

Okay, now.

(Please avoid looking into my crazy eyes - I get a little punch drunk when I am allowed to shave someone's head!)

Our extended family was out there too, which always adds to the enjoyment of Lake K. This weekend, our cousins made huge hotdogs and offered one to our youngest lake goer, Ledger. He LOVES Hot Dogs. You can often hear him say, "more hot dog?" when asking for a bite.

And because, why not eat a foot long 1/2 pound hot dog with your 2 year old son?

We also got to take the paddle boat out (obviously this was Saturday morning since we are still bundled up) and even forced little Ledger to join us. He was pretty unsure of riding on there with Oma and I, but he loves being out on the water so it was okay. He settled down so much that for a few minutes, I think he actually fell asleep! :)

My mom...the comedian and the Cool Whip fanatic. Gross. But funny!

Hope you all had an awesome Memorial Day weekend. I know we did!
