Spring Fever

Just like most of your homes, we are feeling some major spring fever!

The past few weeks have been a little up and down with the temperature but we were able to capture one of the nicer days and take our cooped up pups out for a walk. And in case you can't tell from the video, they were pretty excited.

2nd Annual Crab Feast

This weekend, in celebration of last year's Crab Feast we decided to make it an annual event.
This year, Dad and Millie made the long trip again, as well as Don and Mary Lynn. Brad and Julie were new this year to the actual feast. Both were quite hesitant of the actual crab but enjoyed the shrimp appetizer and the herb and garlic chicken breasts I made special for them.

I sort of had a nervous break down during the making of dinner so we failed to have any dessert. Isn't that a crime? It should be. So family - I owe you one! Thanks for coming!

Frank the Tank

If you don't watch American Pickers, shame on you. However, let me enlighten you on the wonderful world of Frankie, Mikey and Tiger Tits.

Frank and Mike are pickers, which mean they travel around the US picking through people's junk, cleaning it up, and turning a profit. They then call Danielle AKA Tiger Tits (she has leopard tattoos on her chest - Josh coined the term, I think it's very clever) to list the items, find an apraisser, or find the next pick site. It is great. It is on the History channel on Mondays.

Watch it.

Anyway, the Hot Rod show was this weekend at Bartle Hall. Normally, this would be a big YAAAWN for me, but then my amazing husband told me that Tiger Tits would be there on Friday night and Frankie would be there on Saturday! Cha-Ching!

Josh got a wisdom tooth pulled on Friday so Tiger Tits was out of the picture. (Insert sobs here) So we settled for Frankie on Saturday. The line was like super long and I was not feeling the long wait with car enthusiasts. However, being the obnoxious person that I am, I stood next to the stage and just yelled "Frank!" and he looked at me and posed. We had a moment.

Frank and Mike LOVE old lunch boxes and this adorable little girl and her father gave him their very old looking Bonanza tin lunch box. DAMN! I should've thought of that!

And then... my Dad saw his dream car. The one he sold for a mere $2500 when he was just a teen. I thought he might cry. But instead, he smiled for pictures by Millie and I. What a sport!

And because we are those people...

Super Bowl Fun

Super Bowl Sunday we decided to have a little par-tay! Angie and Bryan, Brad and Julie, Don and Mary Lynn, and Matt, Jana, and Cade came over.
Don and Mary Lynn rarely get a picture with their boys so we forced a photo. Aren't they adorable (except Josh, who is Super hot)? And Mary Lynn, even though you're not a fan, I like Brad's beard.
I spent most of my time preparing for the game by making pulled pork sliders, rotel cheese dip, and homemade sugar cookies with delicious royal frosting. It was a lot of work (more than I was expecting), but worth it. I think.
Bella and Dakota felt a little left out of the action, so Dakota tried to get fresh with Angie, and both of them tried to get fresh with Cade.

I got a little one-on-one time with the Cadester while we practiced pulling up and trying to keep up with Bella and Dakota. He is getting so big! 9 months, can you believe it?

And just so you see the insanity of my cookies. I think I may need to invest in some smaller icing tips so that I can do more detailed work. Go Pack!

Lastly, I needed to post a picture of my neighbors driveway last week. How cool is that? Some people are so creative! And have so much time when they are a stay-at-home parent!

Snow Day

Well, after much thought and deliberation, I decided to take a "Snow Day"/Sick day. Yesterday it took me over an hour and a half to get home from Independence, Missery (I mean Missouri). It was awful. Anyway, today we decided to lay low with our pups. Here are a few shots of the girls out playing while Josh shoveled the driveway.

Sorry, you'll have to turn your head to see the next one (obviously, I am still a novice blogger because I cannot figure out how to turn the photo). This just proves that I am NOT Johnson County. What JoCo girls wear coveralls? :)

I am sitting on a snow pile that comes up to my hips. It started as a drift up to my knees and then after Josh shoveled the driveway, it just grew and grew and grew! So much fun in the snow today! Too bad I have to go back to work tomorrow!
