New bedroom...

So since Nebraska Furniture Mart was having 32 months no interest, we decided to go "look" at bedroom furniture. We had been talking about buying a king size bed for awhile and once we got there...we took the plunge.
Now, Josh has been making fun of me for years about the desire to get a Sleigh bed as that is generally referred to as "Old traditional" furniture and he is definitely modern. However, I won. I love our new bed furniture and I LOVE our new mattress set. It was very comfortable.
The downside was that the matching furniture WAS very "old" looking. So we snagged a drawer and went and mismatched the color of our wood with a set that we did like. The set looks like the dresser below...

This past weekend was Father's Day weekend and in honor of Father's Day, we took our dad to the Royals game on Friday night. Okay, it should have actually been called the Cardinals game because the Royals didn't show up to play...
However, we did get to spend time together and with little Ledger. Josh was away at the Battle of Omaha with the summer legion team and missed out.
But, since the Royals weren't playing so well, we were able to "upgrade" our seats to the seats of people who were tired of watching the whooping!
We also got to see the New K and all of the family friendly changes that they have made. It was awesome! On Friday, it was also Fireworks Friday at the K so we got to see a fantastic display of fireworks. Ledger was not a fan!
This is Boom-ma taking delicate care of my beautiful little nephew while Dad and I put trim around the garage door and Kendell and Chris took a much needed nap! What a great Boom-ma!

This is proud Boom-pa trying to keep Ledger cool at the game on Friday. It was tough seeing that the weather was in the high 90s! Boom-pa was glowing with pride all weekend! What a great Father's Day for both him and Chris!

Smoky Hill River Festival

Ah the River Fest...
This was Josh's first time at the event and I believe that
he loved it! The music was awesome and the food was of course, amazing!

The best part, my nephew! I am in shock every time I see him of
how much I love him! He is absolutely perfect!

As always, I snapped him up as soon as I got there and had to be fought
to give him up. Kendell and Chris did have some visitors so I did share!
He is 5 1/5 weeks and weighs about 10 pounds!

Enough said...

Jana's move...

Jana and Matt are making the move!
And just for some added bragging power, I
want you all to see how close she'll be living to us!

Smoky Hill River Festival

As you all know, I am a Salinan through and through. Which means I am a HUGE fan of the Smoky Hill River Festival. This is the greatest gathering of folks in central Kansas. It is technically an "art fair" but we go to sit with our family and friends, listen to some great music, and eat some delicious, very fattening food! This will be Josh's first time going and unfortunately we are expecting rain all weekend... :( We will post pictures later!
AND, somehow I got convinced to run in a 2 mile race on Saturday with my cousin. I am not a runner. I do not pretend to be. However, when your adorable little cousin calls you and says, will you run with me?, you have to say yes. It's a rule. So, Josh got roped in too!
Wish us good luck...we'll need it!

Almost half way there...

Our new patio...

I LOVE IT!
Notice my beautiful new patio swing.

A gift from my amazing husband on our first anniversary!

It was exactly what I wanted! :)

And in case you haven't seen the big changes we've done
in our backyard, this is a (blurry) picture!
