Sushi and Game Night

With my parents in town for the weekend, we decided to introduce them to a tradition we have developed: sushi and game night.

Neither one of my parents have ever had sushi and were very wary...

We also invited Blake, Lindsey, and Randy... Thanks guys for a great night! :)

Our growing family...literally.

Our beautiful puppies are growing and we wanted to update some pictures~

Bella - 19 months old

Dakota - 7 months

Opening a New Door...by busting a hole through the wall!

Thanks Mom and Buddy for coming up and doing us and the dogs a HUGE favor!

We love it!

Baseball Season - GO FALCONS!

As most of you know, Josh is the head baseball coach at Olathe South High School. This week marked the first full week of the season. As we have already had tryouts and multiple weeks of practice, we were really looking forward to this week!

Our first game was against our rivala team, Olathe East Hawks. This was a team that Josh rivaled when he was in high school and was VERY motivated to put forth the best team to play the game. The result:

OS 5 - OE 3

WE WON!
Unfortunately our game on Thursday versus Olathe Northwest was not so exciting. Our Falcons fell 5-3 in a rainy and cold afternoon. We played hard but had some problems with some areas of the game. We will do better next time! Our tournament for this weekend has been cancelled due to the 6-10" of snow that should be arriving Saturday morning. But don't worry, we'll keep you posted for the rest of the games! You can also keep checking the website for extra details and pictures!
GO FALCONS!

And a bathroom...

And I forgot the bathroom...
On a spur-of-the-moment decision, Josh and I decided to redo our guest bathroom. It originally started out with wanting to paint our cabinets... which turned in to needing a new bath rug... which had a different color of "blue" in it... to needing to repaint the walls to match the new "blue"... to needing to paint the baseboard... which means a new shower curtain and towels. Whew! Good thing I have such a wonderful husband!

Our New Patio

After much research and talking to various companies, Josh and I finally decided to get a concrete patio poured under our deck. We chose Joe Quinn Cement Construction and they begun construction on Wednesday morning.

Notice that the forms are poured under the stairs...this is to block Bella and Dakota's race track that goes around and around the base of the stairs. This and the difficulty mowing the area were the deciding factors to getting the patio. Giving two dogs that size a bath every couple of days to get the mud that was matted in to their hair and paws was getting tedious!

The following pictures are after the cement had been poured but the frames are still up. We are so excited that it is coming along so quickly and we should be able to stand/walk on it by Saturday. These photos were taken Thursday afternoon. The cement was still wet today.

Friday, they will return and remove the forms, fill in the edges with the dirt, and remove the old cement slab. We are also going to be doing some other minor remodeling things around the house so this was just the beginning! We will post the final picture soon!

Kendell's Baby Showers

Baby Michel is on the way!
We have no idea what his name will be but we will still love him more than we can even imagine!
Kendell is 31 weeks and has only 59 days to go!
We had a couple of showers for her and she received lots of great new things for baby's room and to prepare for him coming!
She is genuinely glowing and looks fantastic! However, I think she and Chris are ready to welcome the little one in to their home and in to all of our lives! We cannot wait!
