PS...It was AWESOME!

Okay, so I look like crap, but who cares? I'm about to set eyes on...
... this!
For the record, I am totally and completely Team Edward in the books. But the movies? Team Jacob all the way. I might sound a little pedofile-ish, but Jacob is smokin' hot!

That Time Again... GRRRROWL!

So, for all of my loyal blog readers, you knew this was coming. And same as previous same-topic posts, if you don't like the books/movies, DO NOT COMMENT. No, seriously, don't. I will take it personally.

Just so you know, I am not a crazy. I won't be camping out to see the movie on opening day. But, I will have my coworker's 12 year old daughter and our 20 year old resident saving my seat on Thursday after work. Yeah, I'm that cool.

Date Night

Friday was date night. A monthly tradition that "Josh loves". Yep, that was my attempt at airquotes. It was my turn to plan so we went to dinner at Jack Stack BBQ and then on to Putt Putt. A funny story occurred when we went out to dinner... It was totally blogworthy. We ordered our meals from our waiter but the manager was the one who brought it out. When he approached our table, he begin placing our meals in front of us and said, "I assume the large BBQ plate is for the gentleman...?" And then awkwardness ensues when I say, "Actually that is mine, the salad and steak go to the gentleman." Oops. But yes, I did get a half slab of ribs, loaded baked potato, and cheesy corn. Yum. And yes, my sissy husband did get a salad, cheesy potatoes and a 10 oz steak. The steak makes him less sissy, right? :)

And PS I lost in Putt Putt. By 11 strokes. Damn. No really, I could not be more let down. We will have to play again. I cannot lose, especially by 11 strokes. Even if I was sick to my stomach and trying desperately not to hurl on the paper mache ghosts...

Happy Birthday Everyone! Or so it seems...

This month is super busy for birthdays. So, in an attempt to get them all, here is my tribute to my June birthdays:

Happy Birthday Randy! You are still one of my eggs!

Happy Birthday Don! You're the best Father In Law a girl could ask for! Go Cats!

Happy Birthday Sophia! We are so happy to be your Godparents! Enjoy your new little sister!

Happy Birthday Ann! We are so proud of the family you've created! We miss you and cannot wait to meet Olivia!
Happy Birthday Angie! You will always be my #2 Egg (stinking husbands have to come first, right?) :)

Happy Birthday Bradley! I love hearing your stories and am so glad you're around to entertain me!

Happy Birthday to the best husband ever! I will dedicate an entire post to you later (hopefully)! I love you with all of heart!

Happy Birthday Chris! Aloha! I could not have hand picked anyone better for Kendell!

Memorial Day Weekend

After a particularly stressful week at work, I was ready for a much needed mini-vacation. I took Friday off (in anticipation for State Baseball, which we did not make it to) and we took off Thursday night for Lake Kanopolis. We woke late Friday and lazed around. The girls, of course, made the trip and even got to go down to the water a few times.

My awesome nephew, Ledger, was there with Mommy and Daddy, as well as Oma and DoDah. We had a blast playing cards, riding in the boat, and seeing our family.
Josh even wakeboarded! Broken collarbone? What broken collarbone?

Ledger got a personal hairstyle from his Auntie Em and even enjoyed cruising in the boat with her.

Happy Mother's Day (to all the Mom's in my life)

To all of my mothers: Thanks!

Thanks for taking the time to baby me when I need it.
For being tough on me when I need it (which is probably more often).
For always being an ear to listen to my problems.
For always encouraging me.
For the advice that I am always needing but don't always ask for.
For loving me and helping me become more and more like you!
I love you all!

To both of my sisters (who are also mothers): Thanks!
Thanks for teaching me what I do and don't want to do with my kids!
For being a sounding board for everything in my life!
For guiding the way with all of my experiences!
For letting me question why you do the things you do with your kids so that I will have a clue (hopefully) what to do with my kids, someday!
For letting me be a part of your kids lives! (I LOVE being Auntie Em!)
For being friends when I needed to gossip, sisters when I needed advice, and family when I just needed to be loved! I LOVE you both!

Rain Out Weekend

This weekend my parents came up to see Josh's baseball team play on Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, (everyone say it together, now) it got rained out. Even more unfortunately, my parents had already left to come up. Instead, we ended up going out to dinner at my FAVORITE place! Haru's Japanese Steakhouse! I love love LOVE Japanese steakhouses! And, I always catch my shrimp! I did not take any pictures because I just completely forgot. We overate and it was glorious! Saturday we got up and ran some errands - just the typical - fix the broken garbage disposal/dishwasher kind of things. Then we went to "Date Night" at the Fork and Screen. It was pretty good...I liked Tina Fey more than Steve Carrell. I laughed out loud a couple of times. Our food was yummy! Late, but yummy! Sunday, my parents got up and headed out after our Sunday ritual at Panera. Immediately after, Josh and I headed to Lawrence to meet up with Kendell, Chris, and Ledger. We ate Mexican and got to spend some time with my big nephew! He is super cute! I am posting a video of him drinking his water and then saying, "MmmmmAhhhh"!

After lunch, we headed out to a random craft fair in downtown Lawrence. It was like a mini-River Festival. Pretty awesome, actually. We couldn't stay because we had prior engagements in Olathe, but it was fun for a little while!

Hope you all had an awesome weekend! We did! Wish we could have played some baseball on Friday, but we'll make it up! This will be a busy next 2 weeks so don't hold your breath for posts. This week we play three games and this weekend we are going to Salina for Ledger's FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! Sunday we are driving back early for a Mother's Day Celebration at our house. The next week, we have three more games! The following weekend is two things: 1)Josh's first softball tournament back after the collarbone incident and 2) Jana's Due Date! Come on Baby K!
